Meet my new addition, the "Ice Queen"...

I took a work break today to try to get something off my "home" to do list.  I decided I would install my new chandy I found a few weeks ago at a thrift store. It just came back a few days ago from being rewired. (I know I'm busy when I don't immediately hang something the second I bring it home.)
So meet the Ice Queen...
All those lucite prisms make her one heavy girl.

I switched her out because although I loved my old lucite spaghetti pendant, when I added some leaves to my table and made it bigger it got lost. (I'm working on new seating for the wall side, currently I threw a bench there but am designing a built in.)
See... excuse the mess, I was doing my best just remembering to get a before shot.
The new chandy is an oval, so it balances it nicely.
And I love the extra sparkle it adds to the space.

One more thing off the list. Now if I could only decide on a color to paint the kitchen, although I really don't mind the white.

What a beautiful light. I love how much more substantial it looks in the space. Awesome find.

love it--the scale and shape make a huge difference! It's coming together...I keep finding that getting one thing off my to-list adds about 3 or 4 more because of the whole domino effect--change one things, want to change everything. Not so efficient somehow...

arg! i love that light (it totally adds that extra oomph to your space) and I've been looking for something like that forever (that's not 1st dibs prices). Let me know when you find another and I'll buy it off you in a second. They don't show up here in the San Francisco area very often...

Oh yeeeeaaaahh, baby! That is what I'm talkin' about. Fun sparkly chandy, meet your new fab home...and BAM. Awesome sauce. (I'm pretty sure most of that didn't make sense, so translation: That new chandelier is AMAZING.)

OMG, I have that exact same light fixture in my dining area! Well, mine is slightly smaller and round, but its obviously from the same line. I've been dying to change it out for an old-fashioned crystal chandelier as truth be told, it does not go with the rest of my furnishings at all (my stuff is more shabby chic/cottage-y). Yours looks very nice in your home, I must say.

Best,

Kimberly

Love love love. Your post has inspired me to head into my hoarders paradise (aka garage) and bring in the lucite lovely I snagged off cragislist. No more procrastinating, time to hang the chandelier!

Gorgeous gal. It adds instant personality to your space.

How goes the family room re-do? And when do we get to see your fretwork website? Hope all is well :)

Aaah! My mom's old chandelier is back from the dead!!! When we were kids my brothers and I used to take the lucite pieces off and run around screaming that they were Kryptonite and one of us would fall to the ground and play dead.
God, I made so much fun of that thing but I'm happy that someone, somewhere loves it.
