When I squint at my tree I see...

As a lover of all things sparkly, Christmas lights are awesome in my book.  I usually do white, but having kids has given me a new appreciation for colored lights. So much so, I actually bought a big pack the other day while I was out hoarding incandescent lights (thanks for the heads up Mom).
There is something beautifully "Lite-Brite" and retro about them...
So I added a poll to the top of my side bar.  How do you light it up?
Vote. Please. I am just curious. And nosey. And bored.
And leave a comment if you have strong feelings on the matter...

I usually do white, but with my love of all things color lately I'm thinking I need to stock up on some pretty colored ones when they go on sale after Christmas. Maybe next year I'll switch it up. And when I have a house of my own one day, meaning space larger than a shoebox I want to have two trees like my parents did. A kids tree with colored and a "breakable, dont touch" tree with white lights haha

my mom reared us to be strict white lights only. however in last 2 christmas's, she has done green and white lights. looks neat! but sometimes i think it depends on the tree.

I'm so strongly white lights that I never even gave color a thought until this year...when my 3 year old started picking out the multi-colored trees as the "most prettiest ever". Aack! 2 trees is definitely the answer for next year!

Love all this bokeh business...where have I been?

I've used both and I like both, but my preference is white...which is what I used this year. Have a very Merry Christmas!
