I have a ranch house and have always wanted to do that but our house is situated on a slope so it won't quite work. That would make the house look linear, again.Linda {Calling it Home}https://www.blogger.com/profile/06589558175461744076noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2924563841080619298.post-117102532765019052013-03-06T21:34:17.187-05:002013-03-06T21:34:17.187-05:00Thank gosh there are creative and courageous decor...Thank gosh there are creative and courageous decorators in New England! I absolutely love your blog. I love a homeowner risk taker, as a non-native New Englander who sees too many boring houses. You have a fresh take on it, and are adventurous and very Refreshing!

It is hard to tell by your photos whether the wide circle window white build-out (looks kinda like a wide white column) is the same width as your front door entrance? Is the intention to draw the eye away from the front entrance? If you want the front door entrance to be the focus you could paint the circle window column a slightly darker monochromatic shade of the house color and then plant a very nice tall bush, such as purple Ninebark where the face of the house juts out 2 feet (in front of the water downspout). Ninebark will grow in your Zone. You could also have your builder install white trellis on both sides of the round window and plant a growing vine, which would soften it.

(Excuse my feedback as I critique art students all day.)
HipWaldorfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05923220344148654741noreply@blogger.com
