My mom had me believing in all things magical and as a result I lived a very tortured life. When I was 6 or 7 after pulling off some phenomenal feat of motherhood she explained her amazingness by telling me that we were witches. <br /><br />I asked if my sister was also a witch and she told me that only the oldest daughter (me) got the powers. And I told her that I had no powers. And she told me that I didn't get my powers until I turned 15. I lived for 9 years thinking about the wonderful day where I would get my powers (circa Out of this World). <br /><br />On the morning of my 15th birthday my mom woke me up signing and I told my mom "this is going to be the best birthday ever, today I get my powers". I then had to remind her of the little story she told back in the day. We had something similar with the Easter Bunny (the teenager next door used to leave candy at our door the night before Easter) and my brother's street in Boston has a traveling ghost at Halloween (each family has the pass the ghost by putting it in a window at another house). <br /><br />This is far cuter! Kudos to your parents for being so creative and energetic!
