We were just talking about what we should do with her bookcases, and when painting the insides came up she hesitated and resisted. See, she can't live with much color. (I think she birthed all of her color love to me.) She blames this on growing up in the 60's. She also can't stand anything paisley or avocado green.
She used to be quite the wild card in her younger years. She wallpapered her dorm room in tin foil and made her own artwork...
Looking like the hall monitor by day, but I found out what she did by night.
The Original Girls Gone Wild..
We had some good laughs at this one. I think her roommate is dancing the Pony.
When I first saw this pic I thought it was from Woodstock, but no.
It was the Kentucky Derby.
She was more Mod Squad than hippy...
So this got me to wondering if my color love will ever fade out. My mother doubts it. In fact this is what she thinks I'll become...
So anyone else oversexed with color?
Haha I love this post !! What great photos...love the tin foil walls !!

I am! I love color and want it everywhere. Most people buy too much black, I buy too much bright blue and pink!
ReplyDeletewow-that photo in the pink and yellow dress could be YOU! I've been trying to dig up some old shots of my childhood home for a flashback, this is making me feel motivated!

Bahahhah! BTW tell mom I said Hi, even my own mother or MIL don't read my blog, yeah they stank! Your mom is super cool for having a sense of humor.
ReplyDeleteThis is fantastic! Oh my gosh I am cracking up. Yes, I think I'm not only oversexed with color but also pattern. What a fun post. :-)

This was probably the funniest post ever...hahahaha! Yes I am a tad oversexed as well...color makes me happy! You and your mom sound like you would be a blast to hang out with. I have a funny story about my brother coming out of knee surgery and cussing out the doctor...we still laugh about it today.
ReplyDeleteHaha that's so funny!! When I dressed in bold yellows and reds as a kid, when all the other Swedish kids wore pale pastels (more suited to the weather) my parents used to tell me I dressed like I lived in Africa!!
ReplyDeleteThis really gave us a little laugh this morning. First paint the back of the book shelfs, Love it. The photo down memory lane were great.
