Good Morning everyone! I am very excited to be a part of Kristen and Lindsay's Modern Fall House Tour. It has been such a great source of inspiration!
Yesterday we got to see Shannon's Fall inspired bathroom.
SO much fun- (I think I need that Mr. Bubble picture). And she cracked me up!
So come on over...
I live in New England, and I just love the fall weather. Right now the trees are peaking and the air is crisp. It makes me want to cook, light fires and spend as much time outdoors before the long winter hits. It also reminds me to get all my spray painting projects done before its too cold to finish them.
This year I am really excited to have an actual front porch to decorate!
(For the past few years we only had a crumbling stone step.)
I'm a traditionalist so its pumpkins, mums and corn around here.
On the back patio we try to squeeze in lots of fires and marshmallow roasts while we still can.
And when it gets too cold we move them inside to the fireplace.
(I might be raising pyromaniacs by the way my kid's get so excited by a fire.)
As my plants die off, I replace them with mums.
It has been pretty chilly, so I put the storm windows in our 3 season porch.
I have begun to bring some of my favorite outdoor plants inside (ferns, rosemary, succulents).
I hope they survive!
The 3 season porch is new, so I am not sure how the temperature will be in there. This space used to be a covered open air porch. We are buying an electric fireplace heater to put out here for the cold months. I have no idea if that will keep everything from freezing, but I'm hopeful.
To cozy the space up I added a rug.
The inside of my house is still under renovation (slowest reno EVER),
so please excuse anything that looks a little off!
I was actually not even going to show it because a few days ago it looked like this... ummmm, yeah.
I don't go too crazy with decorations inside. Its more about color, texture and layering.
I did get a little festive though and made a centerpiece for the occasion.
I used my husband's truck to display some gourds- it appeases all the testosterone in the house.

Plus it was orange so it went with the scheme.
In the cooler months I have lots of throws and pillows on hand to curl up with. It usually leads to a mess of pillow forts, so my house never looks this neat. ever.
My husband's joke for when the house is clean is- "Did you blog today?"
We just got a new pocket door for the laundry room the other day and painted a coral red.
It works great for now-
but as many of you know me, I will probably have changed the color twice by spring;)
More layering of throws and fuzzy stuff by the fireplace.
A pyro needs to be comfortable!
My office space gets the best light now that the leaves are falling off the trees.
I feel like a cat in a sunny spot on cool mornings.
I hope you enjoyed this peak into my little world!

I love your home! The truck centerpiece is such a fun twist! Funny, my husband says the same thing to me when the house is clean. ;) Have a good one!
I loved your post! NE in the fall tops my list of places to go and it was nice taking a little virtual visit. This was my first time on your blog and I'm hooked! I love your playful approach to decorating and all the Asian inspired prints you incorporate into your home. Haha, my husband is the same way about blogging and cleaning :P
There is so much goodness to digest here, Danika. I really love your gravel patio--so beautiful. I can see why you'd want to spend every last fleeting moment of warm weather out there.
So great to find new blogs to follow, what a great Tour idea! Fun house my friend!!!
Karolyn
You have a gorgeous home and I have serious envy over that three season porch...the rug is amazing!
Angela @ Number Fifty-Three
Man!! So jealous of your outdoor spaces!! Gorgeous!
Gorgeous home!!! Your back patio looks like the perfect spot for entertaining...so jealous of your screened in porch, too! It's beautiful!
I spy your spoonflower fabric on your side chairs -- am I right? Also, what is that cool orangey-red splatter fabric on those chairs that are on your porch? You gotta do an update on your reno -- we readers miss you! :)
Hi Danika! Your home is absolutely gorgeous! That porch is SO good...I'm sure you all are out there all the time, and you did an amazing quick clean and style there! Also, totally hear you about boys+fire. Mine is constantly begging to light something up in the chiminea. My favorite accessory is your truck centerpiece. I love creative touches like that that ooze personality!
Danikka....this is so gorgeous!!! I love that front porch and every square inch of your house just exudes fall awesomeness! I have to admit, some of my favorites are of your babes out back by the fire. Cutest area ever and that image totally captures what fall is about to me!
Danika - It looks great and is really coming together. Did you pick up Woman's Day yet? You need to check out your overlays
I really don't know where to begin! It's all so beautiful and whimsical and wonderful! Like just about everyone else, I love the truck centerpiece. I also LOOOVE the coral door. Such a fun pop of color. Your outdoor space looks so fun and don't even get me started on the sunroom! Great job Danika. Thanks so much for sharing.
Love the home tour! Great work! (Did you arrange those leaves just for the autumnal ambiance? :) Lovely..thanks for the peek!
Great work - love the house tour - did you arrange those leaves on your patio just so - they're perfect!
It looks soooo great in there! I love the coziness - your renovations look GREAT. thanks so much for being a part of the tour!
I've been a reader for a few years now, and love seeing what you do. Those pendants over the kitchen table are amaze-balls. And I'm still in love with the sunburst from oh so long ago.
