Updated: I'm done and need a manicure REAL BAD

Update: Sorry, I took daytime pics. They are truer to the color. The ones I took at night go very purple. I also changed the lamps. Which do you prefer brass or white? I know I'll probably change them 10 times.

The Guest Room is FINISHED! And so is my painting and redoing streak.
It took 4 days and less than $90.
A LOT of paint, a homemade stencil, new chandelier and accessories and drapes stolen from other rooms in the house.  Its super girly and the testorone in the house will just have to deal.
need an over the top space to escape to...

Day

Night

its where I will be blogging from from now on I think...

My house is destroyed from neglecting it, so I'm off to focus my energy on that for a while.

See how it all went down, meet my accomplice, see the BEFORE and
learn how to design your own stencil

And come back tomorrow for a DIY.  I'm making these guys for a wall sculpture...

  1. Once again you did it. Bravo my friend. And yes everyone should have a girly space I'm working on mine but wont finish as quick as you. What coffee do you drink to get the energy to do this?!!!!

The chair and desk combo with the chevron in the back and the stencil looks amazing!

  5. The room looks amazing! One question: What is and where did you get the little shelf/drawer thingy under the lamp on your nightstand? I've been looking for something like that for under my printer and have had no luck. Thanks and great work!!

  6. Thanks! I got that at a thrift store. It is from the 50s/60s and was a light maple laminate originally< I sprayed it pink. Also try yard sales. Good luck!

  8. LOVE the stencil! What a labor of love. You asked about the lamps--while I love those brass ones, I think the freshness of the white is perfect in the room and picks up so nicely on the lighter tones in the wall treatment.

  12. You are my stenciling hero right now. I am in the midst of trying to design a China Seas Aga-esque one and it's not going so well. I'm off to read your tutorial. That room is crazy good. And I prefer the white lamps.

  15. Well done. Girly-ness makes me very happy. The pink chair is super cute, and I really like all the little knick knacks. I think I may be the only one. But, I prefer the brass lamps. Just me though.

  19. Cute as a button. Found you looking for painted doors to add to my pinboard and I'm so glad I did. Love it all and I vote brass lamps.

  20. it's fabulous!! I totally agree, ever girl/woman needs a room in the house where they can escape to. My husband and I have a 3 bedroom house. 1 room is our bedroom, 2nd is the office just for him and I have the other room which i call my getting ready room. It needs major work cause right now it's just a room where i do my makeup and keep all my clothes and shoes. no bed because i have too much other stuff in there hehe.
