Painting...

It has begun!  I have 25% of my cabinets painted:
All I can say is "HOLY CRAP", so much brighter and better already.
This might take a while.
There is a lot of scrubbing & hardware removing.
That in itself took almost a day for just the above cabinets.
AND we are having a 95 degree heatwave here and I have no AC.
So today I tackle the uppers on this side of the kitchen....

I have no plan.
All I know is the lowers are going to be a color.
Right now navy and a soft grey/blue/green tone are in the lead.

And then there will be the design of the O'verlays.

Here is what I am thinking...
maybe doing something different with mirror behind:

Or just keeping it uniform and safe:
I do know the ceiling is going to be where the color and pattern happen ( kind of quietly),
and that is about it.

Anyone else have any lower cabinet color suggestions.
I have this happening in the mudroom right off it, but I don't want orange on my cabinets (and ignore the turquoise kitchen wall and grey dresser- they are gone):

I will do anything but white.
I am all ears.

Wow what a difference! It's really making the marble paint job you did stand out more as well. It looks great! I saw a kitchen the other day (its on my pinterest) with light colored uppers and navy lowers. It looked soooo good. I could totally see that in here. I like the mixing o'verlays of the first pic better too.

I like the mirrors behind, but I love the clean architecture of the more simple 2nd design - can't wait to see!!

Yessss! That looks awesome already! I'm all over navy and white and while I love both designs that first one looks so pretty, I love how it breaks it up. But you know your kitchen, I'm sure whichever one you pick will be gorgeous ~ I feel so inspired!

I like the look of the two different styles. And YES to the mirror behind the uppers. Good luck!

LOVE THE UNIFORM AND STRAIGHT ESPECIALLY OFF OF THE GREAT TRELLIS PATTERN YOU HAVE IN MUDROOM.
ARE YOU DOING HIGHGLOSS? NAVY IS GREAT, EVEN PRUSSIAN BLUE INHIGH GLOSS FOR BOTTOM CABINETS WOULD BE SWEET!!! CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THE FINAL RESULT.

I like the first mock-up (something different) better than the play-it-safe mock-up!

Woah, what a difference some white paint makes!! LOVE this

I love the navy idea- I think something like a Gentleman's Grey would look awesome too! I mean honestly anything will look great with the top half white :)

I vote Prussian blue for the lower cabinets and the first layout of the overlays!

I like the grey for the bottom cabinets. The white overlays is enough WOW.Play it cool, with toned down grey.

Hi Danika, I actually have an Overlay's question...maybe it will help some others. What is the difference between the Annie AN629 & AN730....I realize one is slightly larger. BUT, what does this mean to me? Does one fit tightly without a space on the outside? Can't decide between the two. Thanks!

What a difference! My favorite kitchen is p.179 in the June/July 2010 issue of Lonny. I could totally see that in yours.
