Because I don't have enough stuff going on already...

I want to learn how to upholster. I always have. I've taught myself how to slipcover, but never got up the nerve to rip the old crappy fabric off the furniture and completely re-do it. I've been YouTubing how to's and I think I have the basic gist, kinda scary. I know I should read up some more, but when I get an idea in my head I just go. I'm a little impulsive I guess.

So what spurred this new endeavour? I hit a couple estate sales and a flea market this weekend and picked up two petite wing backs for $15 each (they are so small and cute, I think they'll go at the ends of my dining room table) ...
and this fanback for $10. I have a vision, and it was only fueled once I saw Material Girls wingback post.

I have this black and white fabric that I'm actually going to use the reverse side of for the pair of wing backs...

and I have several yard of a B&W stripe, and some brown and tan linen as well for the other chair, just need to decide where that one is going in my house and which fabric I'll use... but I'm hoping for something like this...

OR...
I'll post them when I'm done! Hopefully they get done. In the mean time, here are a few inspirational chairs I love and had in my style file...

I am most impressed that you would be willing to start a project like that. U Tube or no U Tube. Isn't it way more involved than slip covers? Maybe you can find a fun how-to class at a fabric store explaining the details of your adventure... or maybe the U Tube link will get you through. Cannot wait to see your results. They will be great because you are so talented.

I often think the same thing. You see all these great makeovers and think, I want to do that! I can not believe you scored that sweet chair for $15. And a pair to boot! They're perfect for a dining room. Keep us posted!
