Coastal Living
I'm officially obsessed with coral.
I just painted my office this color and now I'm thinking doing my front door it too. (I have a gallon of coral left that I can use to test it out.)
I have had my head/ heart stuck on doing it turquoise for quite some time...
But I think Pantone's forecast of it has me over saturated sadly. No offense my aqua friend, I still love ya, but maybe its time for me to move on to another area of the color wheel.
Here is the house and front door. Its kind of tucked away and dark, so what ever color goes up needs to have pop. (It actually needs a new light too.)
I'm open to suggestions, just not yellow. I LOVE yellow doors, but this house was dark brown with bright yellow when we bought it a year ago. See...
do you kind of understand? Maybe in time I will be open to the idea, just not now.
So what should I do? Coral, a blue/green or maybe a deep chartreuse? Help! Does anyone have a great kickass color? I'd love your suggestions! I want to paint this weekend.
P.S. Eventually we are changing the windows out to true divided lights to make it feel more coastal ranch than 60's ranch.

Coral would be a fun pop of color. Maybe tone it down with a little more gray than the one shown above, that way it blends better with the style of your home and appears more stately and elegant than beachy. Great idea!
I say just go for the coral! 1. its an easy project, 2. it doesnt require alot of paint and 3. if you hate it then you can repaint it in a few weeks/months when you are sick of looking at it.
But, I think you are going to love it and wonder why you didnt do it sooner :)
love the idea of a coral door :) so pretty!

I think you should do coral AND the yellow surfboard.
Definitely love the coral color, but unsure how it would go on the style of home you have. Test it out! (make sure to use exterior paint as I'm sure you know). Have you thought about a solid wooden door? There are some places where you can find reclaimed doors that might work while adding some charm. Good luck!
Love the coral! Since you already have the paint, why not try it?! BTW, love your inspiration photo. I also love the idea of a chartreuse. Check out this lime door (BM Vienna Green), I likey: http://www.tarpapercrane.com/2010/08/paint-colors-at-cottage.html
LOVE the coral door! Love your blog too! Be sure to post some before/afters of the door.
I agree too...love the coral, and really love what you have done so far as well...great transformation! Can't wait to see more!
Nothing stops traffic like a fabulous coral door! I painted my front door 2 years ago and I've had neighbors stop me in the street to say they love it. Our township commissioner left even me a note in my mailbox, "Love the coral door!"
I vote for coral..I love it.
What is the Name and Number of the coral color?
I color matched it to C2-Head Over Heels, but I also liked Ben Moore's Raspberry pudding.
