tonight!

OK, I am super excited about this... Tonight the DIY Network is going to be featuring O'verlays on their new show I Want That. It airs at 9:30 pm, so watch along and have a fancy beverage with Cheryle and I.  We are pretty pumped to start 2012 like this!

On other fronts (the office redesign), I am becoming obsessed with doing something like this,
Faceted Walls...
Any of these 3 Cole & Son papers do it for me...

I am very inspired and intrigued with this one. It would be easy to paint something similar in a crazy design on my walls...
Kind of a bit "Ice Queen"-ish..

And the wall in the right nails it, how cool is that?
ANd now back to reality.
I have everything basically in the new office (in stacks and piles), but I cannot commit to color or paint.  Part of me wants to keep the big starburst walls, another part wants to change the color and pattern. Here is where I am at.:

This picture was taken from my computer. So I sit at a desk in that lilac chair- but behind me I also have an enormous closet that will house my printer, a desk for my laptop where I do my CAD magic, and all my junk.  The wall in there has the opportunity to be insane and fabulous, and since the doors close I am going to stress the insane part.  There is also a guest bed in here, so that way I can close the insanity and folks can get a peaceful nights sleep.
So, anyone have any suggestions?  I only know that I want to keep my lilac chair. Maybe facet the hell out of the inside of the closet in girly shades of lavender and white, and make a pretty banded pattern on the outsides of the doors? Any suggestions, I need decisiveness please!

As soon as I looked at the picture I thought you should do the faceted look inside the closet and keep the starburts walls...then you get the best of both worlds!!

Oh wow! That first picture is so pretty! And agreed, the black wall in the bottom picture is crazy good!!! I love the texture! Texture, sparkle and color in the closet would be amazing, like opening a jewel box! I'm feeling very orange lately, but I don't think that would work with your chair! Good luck!

Lol all I can say is I bet our husbands hate us for painting shit over and over again. Im getting ready to repaint again as well. I like the ice queen one though.

I'm a fan of the big starbursts. Although the faceted pattern is awesome. I'm not as quick to paint so I'd keep the starbursts. Whatever you choose I can't wait to see it!

I love, love the chair. Loving lavender and navy together. Just did that on my porch with touches of gray and it is beautiful combo. Congrats on the show--will watch!

I've seen several rooms with faceted walls lately and i think they're great. I feel like it might be a bit crazy with the starbursts in the room but if that's your style then go for it. That lavender chair can go with so many colors too!

Maybe you can add some detail to the starbursts on your wall like a nice gold in the middle of them or going down the middle of the starbursts just to change it up. As far as the facets, I say go all out. I would use shades that compliment the chair. And many congrats to your HGTV debut! I can just imagine how it is going to feel seeing YOUR product on there!

Big congrats on your feature tonight. It really is an amazing way to bring in 2012. Although this may not call for fancy drinks, I plan to post about the Olivia O'verlays I used on Friday. I'll send you a photo. How about gold leafing the inside of your closet for a big pop of fabulousness when you open the doors.

Love that first faceted wall! Gorgeous! The black & white one is really well done, too. I think if you facet the inside of the closet, you'd have to paint over the starburst wall, because it'd be too much with the doors open. Can't wait to see what you do.
