Paint Phase DONE

Let there be light!

I can officially cross "Paint Kitchen Cabinets" off the To Do List!
(and kitchen walls and ceiling)
I took all of last week and this weekend, but brown laminate is no more!

Can't say I will ever miss this kitchen...

I went with Ben Moore "Old Navy" for the lowers and "Woodlawn Blue" (mildly obsessed with this color at the moment) for the walls and 1/4 tinted for striped ceiling.
I couldn't decide which way to stripe the ceiling so I met in the middle and just diagonaled it.

I actually chucked my old table out (kids=gross shit even Magic Erasers can't take off) and replaced it with my old glass Parsons desk from the basement.
Much better!

I am going to be building a banquette next on the wall. I have always wanted one, so now I just need to sift through my Banquette Pinterest File and get ideas...

Holy bat cave before!

I am so happy with the new and improved kitchen!
My neck is killing me from painting stripes and I have no voice and a lousy summer cold,
but none of that can't bring me down right now.

I hope to have a banquette and O'verlays on the cabinets by the end of the week,
and then this room be done!

AMAZING! You did an awesome job. I'm so inspired to paint my 1960s kitchen that looks a lot like yours (only picture orange wood cabinets), but same layout and vintage oven. :)

LOVE the blue on the lower counters!
The table is a good call, too.

Lots of work, for sure, but well done!

Dying to know what your husband thinks. I finally was able to convince my husband to let us paint the cabinets. He always thought it was bad to paint them, and we did and he loves. What does yours think now.

OH MY GOD! I can't believe how different it looks. I love that you went with navy on the lower. It looks so much more interesting than an all white kitchen. Congrats on getting it done. Major accomplishment!

You've inspired me to consider navy for my lower cabs, too!

fantastic!!! I love the ceiling and your colors! This inspires me to paint mine. I am having the hardest time pulling the trigger on painting my kitchen cabinets! Your sink area looks beautiful. I know what you mean about your neck. I ruined mine stenciling a ceiling. It bothered me for months..

OMG!!! Wonderful job...you did that and did it well. How inspiring. It looks so clean and crisp. How did you do that ceiling. Wow!

What a good job. All turned beautiful afterwards. Painting can be fun especially if you want to turn dull surfaces into new one. But be sure to cover nose with mask, stay from lead paints and encourage ventilation.

Danika, Just finding you today via a comment you left on Parlour (re: painting oak kitchen cabs) and you had liked my comment. Thanks! :-)

You and Cheryle on the other hand, "Go girls!" O'verlays is so cool and more than well done....looking forward to spending more time reading back posts here, there and @Cheryle's. And when it all gets too much for your Hubby's, remind them it was their "fault" you gals met! :-)

Cheers!
