Sun Deprivation Continues

I highly recommend the August issue of Veranda. It has some great summer, beach house inspiration that is keeping me sane in this gloomy weather. I adore how crisp and yet relaxed this Alys Beach home is.

How great is that cork lampshade?

Ummmm.... summer.

Where you at Summer?

June 21st is the official first day of Summer, and I'm thinking it just didn't get the memo. It has been gray and dismal for what feels like weeks here in Boston. I really should be posting some fabulous Arc design. In the mean time, this is what I am wishing for... a little R&R poolside in the SUN. One can dream. Here are a few pools and cabanas I wouldn't mind spending some time in...

Please excuse me if I drool...

Ahhh... I have such a light fetish, I should have gone into lighting design. Hey, its never too late.

the sconce version of this is pretty great

We've all seen this one, just love...

Some fab sconces...

You can find these here.

Relax, just do it

I came across this image while browsing through Wisteria and suddenly had a longing for a worn, beachy casual interior. I want to strip my wood furniture and sew linen slipcovers! Don't get me wrong, I still love a hefty punch of color and a dose of lacquer, but I do have design schizophrenia. I need two separate houses! OK, so here are a few things I found for my "other" house...

You can probably replicate this oyster mirror
with a glue gun, a bottle of wine (optional) and a good day at the beach.

Love these Suzani pillows, (also in orange in first pic)

Great lines, check out what Stacey Costello did with this piece here.

Love these three colors together.

Sorry, I have benches & consoles on the brain...
been trying to find something that fits my entry.

Classic and nostalgic.

For a punch of sparkle.

Trend Tile

My head is spinning and my eyes actually hurt after looking at all the patterns of mosaic tile Trend USA has to offer, but my... what fun would they be to work with. They have two new lines, Trend Feel (their 3/4" glass square mosaic tile but greener) and Trend Q (think terrazzo but flexible at roughly a 1/4" thick in sheets) , that are made from 80% post consumer glass. The mosaics start around $10 a square foot... not bad... and come in an insane amount of patterns and colors... check them all out here.

Here's a sampling...

This would look fabulous on my kitchen back splash or on a bathroom floor. I want!

I also want these sputnik/snowflake light fixtures!

!

Trend Q -comes in max 24" x 118" sheets and can be used for nearly any surface, even counter tops.
