Hello My Pretties!

Let me introduce you to my little friends from Anthropolgie, Flicker and Flutter...
They don't know it, but hey are the newest addition to my lighting lust list.
Hmmmmm..... One little problem. They are $2,200.

Wonder how long it would take to try to make one of these babies?  I have seen quite a few great DIY Capiz Chandlier How Tos out there.  And I think there are alot of other materials that could be used besides capiz shells to add some sparkle.  I'm thinking about my seaglass collection.  Gonna need to enlist MacGyver for this one.
Add it to my Winter Project List.

New Addiction

In case you haven't noticed I have a soft spot for secondhand vintage furnishings, and an even bigger soft spot for a great deal.  I am so addicted to Decorator Tag Sale.  For those of you unfamilar with this site its basically where designers like Amanda Nisbet, Sara Gilbane and other great talents sell their excess goods.  Here are some of my wants...
This Russell landscape would look great in my living room... $250, not bad!
Amanda Nisbet's lucite stools, $900 for the pair!

Remember her mirrors?  They can be yours for $400 each.

Amanda Nisbet

Chair for a grand.
This 5x7 dhurrie only $40!
Skirted table $50!

Want to cover a lampshade with your own fabric? This biggin' is only $10.
This set of pagodas for $50! Come on people, my palms are sweating...
And to feed my lamp addiction they have lots of unique ones I'm digging...
My wallet just ran and hid. Happy finds everyone!

Dear IKEA PS Maskros,

I've been waiting so patiently...but this is just torture! COME ON AND GET IN THE STATES ALREADY!!!!
I really thought you'd be here by now. My electrician is installing lights next week, and its been months since I first laid eyes on you only to learn you were on the slow boat over here... what a tease! I actually considered driving to Canada for you, but that might make my husband think I truly am insane.

So I will keep waiting for you. You still have a spot on my ceiling. All I ask is that you look as beautiful as I've imagined and not like a cheap, crappy plastic light. OK? I know you will be loved by many, and I'll probably get so sick of seeing you every where, but I'll cross that path when it happens. Just get here already, pretty please.

XOXO,
Danika

Please excuse me if I drool...

Ahhh... I have such a light fetish, I should have gone into lighting design. Hey, its never too late.

the sconce version of this is pretty great

We've all seen this one, just love...

Some fab sconces...

You can find these here.

Relax, just do it

I came across this image while browsing through Wisteria and suddenly had a longing for a worn, beachy casual interior. I want to strip my wood furniture and sew linen slipcovers! Don't get me wrong, I still love a hefty punch of color and a dose of lacquer, but I do have design schizophrenia. I need two separate houses! OK, so here are a few things I found for my "other" house...

You can probably replicate this oyster mirror
with a glue gun, a bottle of wine (optional) and a good day at the beach.

Love these Suzani pillows, (also in orange in first pic)

Great lines, check out what Stacey Costello did with this piece here.

Love these three colors together.

Sorry, I have benches & consoles on the brain...
been trying to find something that fits my entry.

Classic and nostalgic.

For a punch of sparkle.
